Never Let Go To Wisdom
For me, at least this year, my tidbit of advice was by my English teacher, Fitz, he said give a damn. This is is quite a simple piece of wisdom it tells us to go the extra mile, to make sure we put in all our effort. It could anything from a batch of waffles to an essay. Anything we spend time in life doing we should give a damn, it's not about who is watching, it's about having pride in what we do. When I cut the grass, I have pride to do a good job. There is no better feeling than to kick back after doing agreed Jon and admiring your work. When woodworking, if your 80% their and need to sand u better do it, it makes all the difference and worth the effort. I know what it is like to sand something for hours and wanting to give up, it's to keep going on which makes a work of beauty.
Another piece of wisdom I had hated at the time but know I appreciate was given to me by one of my lacrosse coaches. During a practice of mine, something had gone wrong with my stick and I told my coach this was why I was messing up with my passes. He simply replied "A bad carpenter blames his tools." This made me quite angry at the time because I had thought that I couldn't do anything about my stick but now, I realize that it means something more. This piece of wisdom has taught me that excuses are for who I don't want to be.
When you feel like complaining, realize what you really want; when you feel like giving up, give a damn, it will be worth it, trust me.
